I have the best mom EVER!

I just love the downtown riverfront!!! It is so beautiful and peaceful, even on a rainy day. I really do love downtown living and can't wait to do some bike riding. We did not hardly get on our bikes at all this winter like we did the year before. I hope Summer has not outgrown the seat on the bike! :) She is getting so big. She is 37 1/2 inches tall and weighs 34 lbs. I am pretty sure about that height, but everytime they measure her the numbers seem to be different. Gotta love the accuracy of the measurements they are taking and using for documentation.

Last night Clint and I talked at dinner about the tumor and the "ifs, whens and whats" of it all. We really didn't come up with much. It did make me want to get online and research, but now that I am sitting here in front of my computer, I am not sure I really want to do it. From what I gathered from Clint, there has not been enough research done on this type of tumor due to, I guess, the low number of cases every year. Suck!!! So, that means they may be treating her with things that they don't even know will work. Things that could hurt and damage her little body. This bothers me. It makes me very uncomfortable, kind of like she is a guinea pig. But, we have to do something. The question that still remains is "What????"

I called Summer this morning, but I don't think she was too interested in talking to me. You know, I've got that whole chopped liver thing going on when Memaw is around. :) I blew her a kiss through the phone and she said she got it. I just love her so much. I hope she will give me a little love at church today. Sometimes she likes Memaw's lap better than mine. I can't blame her. My mom is awesome!!! I don't know what I would do without her. She is truly the best mom I could EVER have! She has taught me so much in life. She raised me with morals and love. She gave me time and attention. She coached me in sports and came to all my games. I remember playing games with her in the kitchen or living room. Growing up was an awesome time in my life. I know I gave her a little bit of trouble along the way (not sure if that is an under- or over-statement LOL), but she was always there to guide me and punish me if I needed it. She taught me boundaries and respect. So many things! Things I want to teach Summer. I just hope I do half of good a job as she did. Really though, I just hope I get the chance to try.

P. S. Sorry for the tears.........

I'm so glad that you've got your mom to help you out. My mom is equally awesome. She stays overnight in the hospital with our son when he gets his chemo (inpatient) and stays in bed with him. She doesn't want me, being pregnant, to get leaked on in the middle of the night, since some of the chemo makes him pee more.

As for the things that don't work...I don't have much to say about that. My son's "more common" cancer was still treated with things that don't work and now he has to do PT to make up for nerve damage caused by something that allowed the tumor to grow back. For Summer's sake, we just have to hope that they choose the right stuff and that if they don't, they catch it right away.

Of course you will get the chance. Summer has tons of love and prayers going for her, and she is in good hands with the doctors and nurses there. She will be just fine.

Moms/Grandma's are great... I don't know what I would do without mine, either.
