Valentine's Day

This post is a little late coming, but I have finally gotten around to going through some of my picsLOL

Summer got a morning surprise when her daddy returned from working out with a balloon and candy for her.  She also got a really cool princess card from him which says, "May all your dreams come true this Valentine's Day!"  It was cute and she still looks at it whenever she comes across it laying around somewhere.

And there are toys EVERYWHERE!!!  But, that is another subject.

We decided to go for lunch at Tony's Pasta since I love Italian food and by golly I was going to splurge off of my pre-Mexico diet.  So, we loaded her up in the stroller after getting her all dolled up in a skirt and some pink leggings.  Any let's not forget Blackie.  He is like part of her wardrobe on some days...LOL.  I have noticed that since we have returned from Mexico, she has not had him at her beck and call like before.  She is taking a nap with him right now (Bear too).  I think she even has a towel with a bear on it in there with her...LOL.  She likes that towel.  Her nap directly followed her bath which was fun for her as usual.  I tried to teach her the difference between yellow and orange, but I'm not sure she will call the orange crayon orange.  She will probably call it yellow.  :)  I think yellow is her favorite color because my mom and I have both noticed her calling any color of M&M yellow.  The things you remember...

There I go completely off subject again.  Okay so we went to lunch and then walked up to this garden full of art to take some pics.  Summer liked crawling/climbing on the bench.  She really is a climber or as I like to call her, a little monkey.  She likes to jump too.  "I 'onna jump," she says.  She rarely does, but she is learning to use her knees so I suspect it won't be long until she is jumping all over the place.  Darn.  Anyway, we took our pics and walked home in the cold.

After Summer's nap wewent to the mall to let her play on the playground.  She really likes it and it is nice to have an free indoor playground to go to if it is cold outside. They have all kind of things for her to climb on and a slide.  She never really wants to leave and that day was no exception.  Some battles she just can't win.  :)  Overall, our day was pretty awesome and I think I got some good pics.

We were in the paper a few weeks ago.  There was a picture of the three of us coming across the bridge.  It was neat to see us all on our bikes, doing what we do all the time.  One of those pics you would never be able to shoot on your own, but someone else saw it and thought it would make a good picture.  So, we have had our five minutes of fame for the next 10 years.  :)  I'll try to put a scanned pic of it up on this site in the future.

Clint

On our bike ride yesterday (which made the newspaper today - a pic of the three of us on our bikes), Clint was often behind us and Summer would call out looking for him.  "Clint?"  She said his name a couple of times and I told her he was behind us.  I try to refer to him as Daddy when we are at home, but sometimes I do call him Clint.  So, it looks like Summer is trying to do the same thing...LOL.  Well, I guess it isn't actually too funny.  Now Clint is trying to teach her to say Jennifer, but I doubt she will pick it up too easy.  It is pretty difficult for kids to say unlike Clint.

Another word Summer says now is "Fwit" (quit).  Sometimes Clint will be tickling or teasing her and she will say, "Fwit it Daddy!"  She is  too cute!!!

Okay so I pretty much went blank right now so I will finish this later when my mind returns to me.

"I like it, Mommy!"

Last night at dinner Summer said, "I like it, Mommy!"  She was talking about the chicken dipped in her dad's bowl of vinegar I think.  Clint said that it was her first complete sentence, ya know with a comma and all.  She had said, "I like it" a couple of times, but that didn't have the comma in it.  :)  I guess that is what makes a complete sentence at least according to Clint.  So, I thought I would write that in this journal so I never forget what her first complete sentence was.

She is down for a nap right now.  We just got back from visiting my dad so they could play a little while.  I ran while they played, so that is workout #2 for the day out of the way.  Only one more to go.  I can't wait until next Tuesday.  I will be in Mexico and everything will be perfect!!!  It is going to be awesome!

I guess that is about it.  Got to go figure out what we are going to do about eating.  I have been cooking fish almost everyday for dinner.  I am sure tonight will be the same.  Thankfully Summer likes fish too!  That little girl will eat just about anything.  From olives to tomatoes to Poptarts to oranges to peanut butter, she is always asking for something to eat.  She is starting to learn her juices too.  She has been drinking grapefruit (red and white), grape, and apple juice along with her chocolate milk lately.  She does like them, but still prefers chocolate milk to any of them.  She likes to stand up on her chair in the middle of dinner and announce how big she is to me and Clint.  It is cute.  I sure am happy she is in my life.  I don't know what I would do without her anymore.

Speaking in sentences

It is so crazy to here my baby girl speaking in sentences!  I guess she is not a baby anymore, but she still poops her diaper...LOL.  Monday Clint says he thinks she might have pooped in the potty but he is not sure.  How he is not sure, I don't know, but that is what he said.  I can't believe she actually let him put her on the potty in the first place.  I guess I should get more into the habit of it, but it is frustrating when she never goes and doesn't really want to sit on the potty anyway.  I would really love it if she would poop in the potty though because lately she has had some terrible bumps on her bottom.  I even put a pair of panties on her the other morning to kind of let her "air dry" a little.  But, then she wanted to watch Barney which she does on my bed, so I put a diaper back on her.  She does seem to want to wear the panties; she just doesn't want to go to the bathroom in the potty.  All in due time I guess.  I never thought I would be writing about pooping in potties and such, but I guess that is what it is to have a little girl.

Back to the sentences.  This morning she actually asked for a hair bow ("I on't airbow") which is amazing for her because every time I put one in her hair, she takes it right out.  But today she actually let me put it in and left it in for a good 30-45 minutes.  She also asked for cake which I gladly let her have because it saves me from eating it.  Clint and I might be going to Mexico in less than two weeks if I can get my shifts covered.  I am SOOOO excited!  I just need to stick to a strict diet until then and I should be in pretty good shape for laying out by the pool.  I guess I better get some stuff taken care of while Barney is entertaining her...LOL.
