Onto monthly check-ups

We are in the clinic now getting Summer's monthly dose of pentamidine (an antibiotic). Her counts are good although her white counts are still lagging, but they probably will for 3-6 more months. They are not too low, but ANC is only about 1,000. She is watching Alvin and the chipmunks while we wait for her to be done.

This weekend she got to go to Collinsville with Memaw and Nanny. She really liked it and told my mom she wants me and Aunt Leisa to go next time. She racked up on jewelry and even got a collar with a name tag for Leah. She called it a carnival. I haven't been there since I was a kid, so I don't really remember what it is like. Sounds fun from her description though.

Yesterday, she told me she wants to be an animal doctor when she grows up. I told her it was called a veterinarian which she surprised me by being able to say it back to me. I asked her if she wanted to be a doctor for cats and dogs or horses and cows and she said neither. She wants to doctor toys. Hopefully, she will change her mind and treat real animals. :)

I will be posting a big picture update later this week. Stay tuned.

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Angel_Wings

Thank You, God, for everything ...
The big things and the small,
For "every good gift comes from God" ...
The Giver of them all.

And all too often we accept
Without any thanks or praise,
The gifts You send as blessings
Each day in many ways.

And so at this Thanksgiving time,
We offer up a prayer;
To thank You, God, for giving us
A lot more than our share.

First, thank You for the little things
That often come our way;
The things we take for granted
And don't mention when we pray.

The unexpected courtesy,
The thoughtful, kindly deed,
A hand reached out to help us ...
In the time of sudden need.

Oh, make us more award, dear God,
Of little daily graces,
That come to us with "sweet surprise,"
From never-dreamed-of places.

Then, thank You for the "miracles"
We are much too blind to see,
And give us new awareness
Of our many gifts from Thee.

And help us to remember
That the "key" to "life" and "living,"
Is to make each prayer a "prayer of thanks,"
And every day THANKSGIVING.

So all her scans are clear then? I hope so.

And I'm sorry, but the whole 'vet to toys' thing is just too cute! LOL
